The Emotivate Project is finalising plans to deliver an additional social change project at an underpass in Efail Isaf, which whilst only in place for a few yeasr has already started to show signs of neglect. We are looking to twin Efail Isaf with another community, which will hopefully be in another EU country using the Classroom 2.0 and eTwinning approaches. The project has the backing of elected councillors in Efail Isaf, who support the proposal as voiced by project manager, Jonathan Bishop, in his election video shown below.

Current Plans

The plans have changed on the project since Jonathan Bishop’s election broadcast. It is now envisaged the project will take the following process:

  • Phase 1 – Clean-up: Professional painters will be working with young offenders and scouts teams to clean up the mess the Underpass in Efail Isaf is in so it is more sightly
  • Phase 2 – Develop: Professional software will be developed to provide a Classroom 2.0 environment to allow the young people in Efail Isaf to work with young people overseas in the EU through e-Twinning.
  • Phase 3 – Deliver: The young people design the following following murals that tell a story like the Bayeux Tapestry and paint them on the underpass with the support of a professional artist and painter:
    • Past, Present Future: One side will show the ideas the young people have about Llantwit Fardre’s past, how things have changed and how the young people would like them to change
    • Hall of Fame: The other side will show the people that are associated with Llantwit Fardre’s past that are relevant to the young people as well as those who are the present and who they would like to see make it in the future.
